Sons of Light | Understanding Our Identity as Children of God by Rikye Jemimah
Drawing from 1 John 3:1, the teaching begins with the wonder of God's love: “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God.” Being called God's child is not merely a title; it speaks of love, adoption, acceptance, identity, belonging, and transformation.
Rikyer Jemimah emphasizes that our sonship in Christ carries responsibility. We have been called out of darkness and brought into God's marvelous light, but this identity must be accompanied by a genuine surrender of ourselves to God. We cannot fully understand what it means to be sons of light without understanding our relationship and identity in Christ.
The teaching also explores the nature of light. Light illuminates, brings revelation, exposes darkness, and makes things visible. Where light enters, darkness cannot continue to dominate. As believers, we are therefore not called to hide the light we have received. We are called to allow the light of Christ to shine through our lives and reveal Him to the world around us.
This message is a powerful reminder that our identity as Sons of Light is rooted in God's love and expressed through our relationship, surrender, obedience, and willingness to shine for Christ.
